IF: Heights
Sparrows inspired by ancient art.
Last summer, Anthony and I spent the summer in Greece, and while we were there we went to a ton of museums (surprise surprise). I was in my element (I studied ancient art in college) and ended up spending hours upon hours under canted ceilings in dim light, smelling the vague musty smell of ancient things. What I didn't expect was to be smitten with the really old stuff, in particular the Cretan, Cycladic, and Mycenaean pottery.
The birds were really intriguing. I like how geometric they are, but in different styles, depending on the culture. The one above is Mycenaean.
The two pieces above are from ancient Thera, with Cycladic and Minoan elements.
And who doesn't like deer?
